Overview

At WALX we have a very holistic approach to fitness so we want to teach people how to walk well, work the whole body and keep progressing so they do not get bored. Lots of people have discovered walking but the initial feel good factor wears off once results require them to walk further or faster – that’s where we come in with TOTAL BODY WALKING

We also want to make sure that we cover every element of fitness in our TBW sessions and that Instructors are able to programme these effectively into park based sessions or into a walk.

Content

  • The unique WALX drills contained in this programme contain all of the elements below and we have also provided a section on how to use them to create fun classes with plenty of variety.
    • Impact for bone density
    • Speed drills (HiiT style) for Cardiovascular fitness
    • Strength exercises for tone and to encourage weight loss
    • Balance drills and co ordination
    • Range of movement/Functional fitness
    • Flexibility
    • Hill training
      We also include the importance of linking Mind and Body with simple ways to build this in as well as basic lifestyle advice for you to use in order to help clients understand the importance of the exercises you provide.

     

    This course has been split into small manageable chunks of elearning with an online zoom session to support your understanding.

Format

  • Online learning and home practice BEFORE 2 x 2-hour virtual training and practice session

Assessment

The Total Body Walx workshop consists of a mix of on line and practical virtual sessions. All candidates are given verbal feedback. There is no formal assessment.

DURATION: 8 hours of blended learning

PRE-REQUISITE:  It is essential to complete your ‘Theories of Exercise’ course, Basics of Strength and Conditioning and all TBW online units prior to attending the virtual zoom session.
